Update: Lincoln Pool Passes Now Available Online
Shortly after New RoAR News commented on the difficulty of obtaining pool permits and the disparity between the procedures for the pool and tennis permits, the city updated its website to include online access to permits. The new web page notes that one may email ID, proof of residence and a clear photo of each person requesting a pass to info@newrochelleny.gov, after which an email will be sent with information to make a payment online. Permits will be mailed out once payment has been received. Fees will not be accepted at the pool. Seasonal fees for adults are $10.00, and $5.00 for children ages 6-17. Children under 5 do not require a pass. The site notes that only a parent or legal guardian may register a minor, and proof of residence is required. There is no longer a mention of report cards. https://www.newrochelleny.gov/294/Lincoln-Pool-Pass.
Concerned residents are hopeful that this change will be publicized, and that the city government and school board will seek additional avenues for expanding opportunities for residents to swim, including making permits available at the pool or nearby, offering swimming lessons and lifeguard training, completing the repairs to the high school pool, and seeking additional venues for public access and opportunities to swim.
