Energy Justice Alliance to Honor Elected Officials at Monthly Meeting on February 8
The Energy Justice Alliance invites the community to attend their monthly membership meeting at SuggarPlums, 534 North Avenue in New Rochelle on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 7:30 pm.
The Energy Justice Alliance is a BIPOC-led coalition that advocates for a just energy transition, union and family sustaining jobs, and inclusive decision-making.
At the meeting on February 8, new members will be welcomed, old members will speak about their commitment to energy justice in New York State and the lower Hudson Valley, and in recognition of Black History Month, EJA will celebrate the historic elections of Mayor Yadira Herbert-Ramos and Councilmembers David Peters and Shane Osinloye.
In addition, Raya Salter, the founder of the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center, and other members of the Energy Justice Alliance will discuss ways to work with the City of New Rochelle in securing climate justice for disadvantaged communities as mandated in the Justice40 Initiative and New York State’s equivalent. With millions of dollars potentially available to disadvantaged communities in Westchester, EJA seeks the community’s participation in allocating this economic stimulus.
