Shared Legacies: Film Screening and Talkback
On Thursday, January 16, the Inter-Religious Coalition of New Rochelle and the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Mid-Westchester will commemorate MLK Day together with a screening of the 2020 documentary Shared Legacies. The film documents the coalition between the Jewish and African-American communities during the Civil Rights Movement and revisits crucial lessons, serving as an urgent call to action for continued collaboration benefiting all.
After the screening, there will be a panel discussion and talkback to explore the relevance of these historical lessons in today’s diverse Westchester communities, featuring:
- Rabbi Dahlia Bernstein – Senior Director of Jewish Engagement and Care Services, JCC Mid-Westchester
- Elder Mark McLean – Past President, NAACP New Rochelle and Inter-Religious Coalition of New Rochelle
- Rev. Dr. H. Lee Jordan, Jr – Senior Pastor, Shiloh Baptist Church
