Free Anti-Racist Community Training Workshop in New Rochelle August 23-25
Learn about racism and how to organize communities to fight it!
New Rochelle Against Racism (New RoAR), in collaboration with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, will be sponsoring a free 2-1/2 day anti-racist community training workshop on August 23-25, 2024 for New Rochelle residents interested in learning about racism and how to organize communities to fight it.
Participants in the workshop will:
- Develop a common definition of racism and an understanding of its different forms
- Understand the role of systems and institutions in maintaining racism and who institutions have been designed to serve
- Learn how everyone is adversely impacted by racism
- Understand the role of community organizing and building effective multiracial coalitions
The workshop will be held at the Remington Boys and Girls Club, 1 Remington Place, at the following times:
- Friday, August 23 – 6:30pm – 8:30pm
- Saturday, August 24 – 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Sunday, August 25 – 1:00pm – 4:30pm
